{"id":402,"date":"2014-09-29T23:28:23","date_gmt":"2014-09-30T03:28:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.adjustedcostbase.ca\/blog\/?p=402"},"modified":"2015-03-22T20:06:09","modified_gmt":"2015-03-23T00:06:09","slug":"using-a-guest-account","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.adjustedcostbase.ca\/blog\/using-a-guest-account\/","title":{"rendered":"Using a Guest Account on AdjustedCostBase.ca"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In order to use <a title=\"AdjustedCostBase.ca\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adjustedcostbase.ca\/\">AdjustedCostBase.ca<\/a> effectively, you&#8217;re encouraged to register for an account so that you can access the data you&#8217;ve entered any time.\u00a0 But you also have the option of using a &#8220;Guest Account.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With a guest account, you can access all the features of AdjustedCostBase.ca that a registered user can access.\u00a0 However, any data you enter will only be accessible within 48 hours from the time you create the guest account, or until you logout, whichever comes first.\u00a0 Within this 48 hour period, you&#8217;ll be able to access the account even if you close your browser and later re-open it, provided your browser&#8217;s settings allow for the cookies to be saved.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of guest accounts is to allow you to test out AdjustedCostBase.ca before registering for an account.\u00a0 Also, if you already have an account, a guest account can allow you to quickly experiment of a small set of transactions, independent of the data in your regular account and without contaminating your regular account&#8217;s data.<\/p>\n<p>Launching a guest account is as simple as clicking on the &#8220;Login as a Guest&#8221; button found on the <a title=\"AdjustedCostBase.ca Home Page\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adjustedcostbase.ca\/\">AdjustedCostBase.ca home page<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adjustedcostbase.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/guest_login.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-426 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adjustedcostbase.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/guest_login.png\" alt=\"Guest Login\" width=\"493\" height=\"238\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.adjustedcostbase.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/guest_login.png 493w, https:\/\/www.adjustedcostbase.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/guest_login-300x144.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 493px) 100vw, 493px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A blank guest account will be instantly set up for you.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll be able to add securities and transactions just as you&#8217;d be able to with a regular account.\u00a0 At any point in time, you&#8217;ll have the option of converting your guest account into a regular account.\u00a0 This will allow you to extend the life of any data you&#8217;ve entered beyond the 48-hour time limit.\u00a0 When you convert to a regular account, the data will be saved indefinitely.\u00a0 To convert your guest account into a regular account, click on the &#8220;Register&#8221;
